Gaviota Tequila was created by Francisco and Vanessa Orozco, a dynamic Father and Daughter duo. Gaviota was created with the idea in mind that we just didn't want to be another tequila bottle on the shelf competing with hundreds of “me-too” brands. We wanted to be unique, and bring something different to the table, something that no one had ever came up with before: A tequila product that has the whole package and message; a beautiful bottle along with a high quality tequila product that was distilled with love and perfection.
Gaviota Tequila is produced in a town named San Ignacio Cerro Gordo (Lush Hillsides of Saint Ignatius), Jalisco, Mexico – which is located in the highlands of Jalisco. We choose to produce Gaviota Tequila in this town as this is the town where my dad, Francisco Orozco, our President and Founder grew up. Upon settling on producing Gaviota Tequila for market, Francisco wanted to make sure that he gave back to his people and his town and what better way than to do business with his hometown distiller and close family friends. Francisco has also created a nonprofit organization in order to give back to this small community, filled with many humble people, who are in need of many things. Gaviota Tequila is not only in the business of making money but in the business of giving back to those who need it the most.
It is our hope that with the growth of Gaviota Tequila in the market we will be able to help develop jobs in our small town and more jobs here as well.
